Born and raised in Central Vermont, I studied art and geology at the University of Vermont, traveled throughout South America, and returned to Vermont in the 1980’s to raise my family in East Montpelier. Here I was fortunate to learn the Mildred MacKenzie technique of producing sound from a pinch pot. That was over 20 years ago and my love for the clay and the design process continues.
In addition to my pottery business, I co-own and operate the Artisans Hand, a beautiful gallery of Vermont Crafts in business for over 30 years in downtown Montpelier.
Whistle making has allowed me to work at home in a creative and intentional way, and given me the freedom, when the snow is good, to step outside for an inspiring ski in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
